Website images want WebP
The slow part of a docs site is often a 4 MB PNG in the article. 2.0 ships a factory “WebP” plan so you do not reselect the format every time.

Nine target formats, or keep the original. HEIC, SVG, BMP, and PDF can be dropped in.
A working path
- Open the WebP plan, or retarget to AVIF / JXL. See Web and app assets.
- If the CMS has a cap, turn on target size, for example 200 KB.
- Drop the project
images/folder. Subfolders stay when possible. - Compare the hero. If type or edges fall apart, raise quality. Do not upload the same file to another website.
Nine targets, or keep the original. HEIC, SVG, BMP, and PDF can come in. See formats.
Do not
- Do not convert a whole archive to AVIF without checking Safari coverage. WebP is still the first cut.
- Do not advertise “smallest on the internet.” The −70.3% lab number is six files.
- Do not expect RAW out, or JPEG saved as PDF.
Next: HEIC from the camera roll.
