A PDF stays a PDF
The file that will not go through mail is often a PDF stuffed with full-resolution figures. Version 2.0.1 on 27 August 2026 put PDFs on the same queue. It compresses the document. It does not rasterize every page into one picture.

PDFs share the queue with images. Output stays PDF. Text should remain selectable.
How
- Install the PDF engine in onboarding step 2 or later under Settings → Plugins. The app does not bundle it. See Engines.
- Drop
.pdfon the main window. Missing engine explains itself on that row. Image jobs continue. - Pick screen / ebook / printer / prepress. Default is ebook. See PDF compression.
- Need a byte ceiling? Turn on target size.
- Encrypted PDFs fail. A larger result reverts to the original.
Lab sample: about 11.5 MB of high-resolution figures to about 1.49 MB on ebook. A sample, not a promise. One PDF counts as one image against quota.
Do not
- Do not convert JPEG to PDF. The product does not.
- Do not expect split pages, decryption, image watermarks on PDFs, or extra raster sizes.
- Do not enable upscale or cutout on a PDF. Those steps skip.
