Thank you for using Image Optimizer (hereinafter referred to as “the Software”). We take your privacy very seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information.

1. Information Collection

1.1 Information We Collect

The Software may collect the following types of information:

  • Device information: a salted machine identifier used for activation, plus OS version
  • License information: the CD-Key you submit and activation status, sent only when activating or unbinding
  • Anonymous usage events: app start/exit, batch file counts and bytes saved, and names of setting keys (not paths or file contents). User identity is a non-reversible hash with a daily rotating salt
  • Local diagnostics: crash details are written to local logs. They leave the machine only if you export logs

1.2 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do NOT collect or upload the images or PDFs you process
  • We do NOT collect full file paths or file names as analytics events
  • Compression, conversion, watermarks, extra sizes, PDF, upscale, and cutout all run locally

2. Use of Information

The information we collect is used only for:

  • Verifying the validity of software licenses
  • Managing device activation and unbinding
  • Improving software performance and user experience
  • Providing technical support

3. Information Storage

  • License activate and unbind requests go to our license service
  • Anonymous usage events go to our self-hosted analytics service to improve the product
  • License-related data is kept for the duration of your license
  • Settings, quota counters, and crash logs stay on your computer by default

4. Information Sharing

We do NOT sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to external parties, except:

  • With your explicit consent
  • As required by law
  • To protect our legitimate interests

5. Local Data

All core features of the Software run locally:

  • Compression, conversion, crop, watermark, upscale, cutout, and PDF compression all run locally
  • Your images and PDFs are never uploaded to any server
  • Engine downloads in Settings · Plugins fetch programs and models, not your files
  • Software settings and preferences are stored locally
  • You can clear local data at any time

6. Third-Party Services

The Software may use the following services:

  • Payments: purchases on the website are handled by third-party payment providers. We do not store card numbers
  • Licensing: CD-Key activation, unbinding, and device quota
  • Analytics: self-hosted events described above. Image contents are never collected
  • Optional engine delivery: upscale and cutout engines and model files may be fetched from our download node and stored on this computer. The transfer is installer payloads with checksums, not the pictures you are processing

We do NOT automatically upload crash logs to a third-party crash service. Crash records stay on the device until you export them.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Unbind devices and stop using the Software

8. Children’s Privacy

The Software is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated policies will be posted on this page with the update date noted.
