Image Optimizer is a local batch image app for macOS and Windows. Compress, convert, cutout, upscale, and PDF compression all run on this computer. Free quota is 300 images per calendar month. Short answers below are written so they can be quoted as-is.

What is Image Optimizer?
A desktop app. Drop in pictures or PDFs and run a plan to compress, convert to WebP / AVIF / JPEG XL, remove backgrounds, enlarge 2× or 4×, watermark, or shrink PDFs. It is not a web compressor and not a cloud retouching subscription.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Processing stays on this computer. Settings downloads engines and models. License activation sends a salted device id. See the privacy policy and engines.
What is the free quota? How much is Pro?
Free: 300 images per calendar month. Failures do not count. The counter resets next month. Pro is a lifetime unlock (￥79.99 on the Chinese page, $14.99 on the English page) and then unlimited on up to 3 devices. There is no feature wall. Watermark, watch, PDF, upscale, and cutout are included for free users.
How is this different from TinyPNG-style upload tools?
Online tools often cap file size and files per session, and they upload the picture. Image Optimizer processes whole folders locally, can watch a directory, and can cut out, upscale, and compress PDFs. You need a desktop install and an image engine.
Does it support HEIC, AVIF, and JPEG XL?
Yes. Nine output formats. Inputs also include HEIC, SVG, BMP, and PDF. No RAW, PSD, or saving pictures as PDF. See formats.
Can I remove backgrounds or enlarge photos locally?
Yes. Enable cutout or 2× / 4× upscale in a plan, then install engines in Settings · Plugins. PDFs and animations skip those steps. See upscale and cutout.
Can I compress PDFs? Does text stay selectable?
Yes. Output stays PDF. Presets try to keep selectable text and vectors. Ghostscript must be installed. Encrypted PDFs are not supported. See PDF compression.
Can a folder process new files automatically?
Yes. Settings · Automation. Launch at login is optional. See watch folders.
Which operating systems?
macOS 10.13+ and Windows 10+. On Windows you can also install from the Microsoft Store . The download page also offers a dmg and a website installer.
What is the difference between Microsoft Store and the website installer?
The Microsoft Store build is easier to install: Windows handles signing, and updates come through the Store. The website installer keeps the original download URL, supports faster in-app updates, and may be blocked by Windows until you follow the download page guide. Both use the same CD-Key. Compress, convert, cutout, and PDF work on both. The Store edition cannot download the upscale engine from the network; use the website installer for 2×/4× upscale, or point to an engine already on this PC.
How do I move to a new computer? How many devices?
A lifetime (Pro) license can be bound to up to 3 devices. If a slot is free, enter the same CD-Key on the new machine. If all 3 are in use, unbind one in the License tab or on the unbind page, then activate on the new computer.
