Local upscale and cutout without sending pictures to the cloud
Image Optimizer puts 2× / 4× enlargement and background removal in the processing plan, instead of shipping a separate retouching app. Engines download in Settings · Plugins. Inference does not upload your files. Free quota is 300 per month. Successful steps count.

When is upscale useful?
- An old shot or thumbnail needs a larger slot.
- A product detail needs more clarity, and the original must not go to an online enlarger.
Open the Upscale plan and pick 2× or 4×. It is off by default. If the engine is missing, that row fails and the rest continue. PDF, GIF, and animated WebP skip upscale. Pixels change, so a successful upscale does not revert even if the file grows.
This needs GPU compute. If the machine cannot run it, the row shows a readable error instead of stalling the batch.
When is cutout useful?
- Listings need a white or transparent background.
- A folder of still objects should lose the backdrop, then compress to WebP and extra sizes.
Enable Cutout in the plan. Lite is lighter. General is heavier. JPEG / BMP / GIF become PNG after cutout. PDFs and animations skip this step too. See product photos.
Boundaries versus standalone upscalers and online cutout
- This is not a photography restoration suite and it does not chase yearly portrait-rebuild subscriptions.
- This is not a feature-list race against a free standalone upscaler. It wins by sitting on the same pipeline as compress, sizes, watermark, and watch folders.
- Models are not inside the website installer. Download them in Settings when you need them.
- The Microsoft Store edition cannot download the upscale engine from the network. For 2×/4×, use the website installer , or point to an engine already on this PC. Cutout works in the Store build (program is bundled; the model can still download).
- This site does not claim lossless enlargement or perfect cutouts.
The same plan can upscale then cut out. If you only need a watermark on original bytes, turn off format conversion. See plans.
