Compress without uploading
You already know how to use a browser.
What you keep doing is dropping unpublished product shots, client originals, and installer PNGs onto a site that asks you to sign in, caps the file at 5 MB, and sends the bytes somewhere else. The ratio is average. The original already left.
The first public build on 19 April 2024 did one job: batch compress and convert on this computer. Version 2.0 did not change that. Plans, PDF, upscale, and cutout still run here.
Files stay on this computer. Shrinking does not require an upload.
Three steps tonight
- Install from the download page . Windows can also use the Microsoft Store .
- Finish the image-engine onboarding. The Optimize button stays off without an engine. That is intentional. See Getting started.
- Drop a folder you already meant to shrink. Read the new size and ratio on the list.
Lab sample (not your site average): six mixed jpg/png/gif/webp files, 3.19 MB → 0.95 MB, about −70.3% (2026-08-22 RC).
When the upload tools are enough
Use a website for one casual image you accept sending. Use this app for folders, large files, unpublished assets, or WebP / AVIF / JXL. There is no upload size wall. You can also watch a folder.
Free quota is 300 images per calendar month. Failures do not count. There is no feature wall. See Three hundred a month.
Do not
- Do not read “no upload” as “no network ever.” License activation sends a salted device id. Engine downloads are programs and models, not your pictures.
- Do not treat this as a filter suite or a RAW / PSD workstation.
- Do not expect a copied bitmap in the clipboard to compress itself. The product is folders and a queue.
