Which formats?
Nine outputs (or keep the original): WebP, JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, HEIF, AVIF, JPEG 2000, JPEG XL.
Also accepted as input: HEIC, SVG, BMP, PDF. PDF stays PDF after compression. See PDF compression.
Not supported: RAW, PSD, saving pictures as PDF.
Each target format has its own quality and encoder controls. Use before/after compare on important frames. Do not judge by savings alone.
How do I convert iPhone HEIC?
- Drop an export folder from Photos into Image Optimizer.
- Set the plan target to JPEG (compatibility) or WebP / AVIF (smaller).
- Portrait shots are straightened before save, so stripping orientation metadata does not flip the picture.
- EXIF and similar tags are stripped by default. Keep EXIF, ICC, XMP, or IPTC per plan when color or copyright must stay.
SVG has a render density control. SVG and BMP sources can land on PNG when the plan asks for a bitmap.
Why do people look for a TinyPNG alternative?
